Cruise Line Travel Insurance & Pre-Existing Condition Deadlines

Search the travel protection information offered or recommended by 20 cruise lines. Each record identifies the plan company, insurer or underwriter when publicly named, administrator, phone number, official description, plan-document access, and the cruise line's published treatment of pre-existing medical conditions.

U.S.-resident information researched and verified September 1, 2026. Plans, state availability, forms, and terms can change.

Important deadline warning

Do not wait until final payment unless the issued policy expressly allows it

Immediately after your initial cruise or trip deposit, obtain the current policy or certificate for your state, read every waiver condition, and purchase by the stated deadline if you want pre-existing-condition protection. A deadline shown here is not a promise of coverage.

Because the current document directory is F429T, the issued F429T state certificate must confirm that rule.

Also review Travel Insured immediately after your deposit

A cruise-line plan is not your only possible option. Visit the Deluxe Cruises travel insurance page to prepare your trip details, then compare plans available from Travel Insured International for your residence and journey. Enter the exact date of your first trip payment.

Act promptly: compare options as soon as the initial cruise deposit is made. Plan availability, time-sensitive waivers, and purchase conditions are determined by the insurer and the issued plan—not by this directory.

Questions travelers ask

Cruise-line insurance FAQ

When should I review cruise travel insurance?

Review your options immediately after making the first trip deposit. Some pre-existing-condition waivers and other benefits require purchase within a stated period measured from that initial payment.

Does every cruise-line plan waive the pre-existing medical condition exclusion?

No. Some plans publish a purchase-timing waiver, some expressly retain the exclusion, and others vary by state or do not publish a current rule. The policy or certificate issued for the traveler's state controls.

Is meeting the listed deadline enough to establish coverage?

No. A deadline is only one possible condition. Medical ability to travel, full-cost insurance, residency, eligibility, later trip-cost payments, and other requirements may apply. Confirm every condition in your issued policy.

What if a full policy is not linked?

Ask the named insurer, administrator, or cruise line for the current state-specific policy or certificate before buying. A brochure, FAQ, or booking contract is not a substitute for the issued policy.

Can I compare a separate travel insurance option?

Yes. Use the Deluxe Cruises Travel Insured information page and review options immediately after making your cruise deposit.

Important legal and insurance disclosure

The issued resident-state policy always controls

This directory is a dated research summary for U.S. residents. It is not a quote, policy, certificate, binder, coverage determination, legal advice, or recommendation that a plan is suitable. Terms and availability vary by state, booking date, trip, traveler, and plan version.

Deluxe Cruises is a travel retailer and referral source and may receive compensation when a plan is purchased through its referral link. It is not the insurer, underwriter, plan administrator, or claims administrator and cannot interpret benefits, exclusions, waiver eligibility, or claim outcomes. Direct technical questions to the insurer or administrator named in the current plan documents.

Pre-existing-condition provisions are especially time-sensitive. You are responsible for obtaining the correct policy, disclosing accurate trip information, satisfying every eligibility condition, insuring later non-refundable trip costs when required, and purchasing by the applicable deadline.

If this page differs from the current policy or certificate issued for your state of residence, the issued document governs. Reconfirm all information before purchasing.
