‘UFO’ pictured above the Queen Mary 2 cruise ship in Torquay

With 2020 being for many the most unusual of years in living memory, it goes without saying we’ve seen and been through some strange things.

Whether it’s being stuck at home because of the coronavirus pandemic, statues being toppled or even the extremes such as the reformation of 90’s pop racket makers Steps, it’s no wonder for many, it’s a case of “what will 2020 bring next?”

What about extraterrestrial beings coming to Devon for their end of summer holidays? In pictures captured by the chief investigator for World UFO Photos, John Mooner, a photography mission to capture four cruise ships in Hopes Nose, Torquayled to seeing a UFO.

The unidentified flying object was seen above the Queen Mary 2 cruise ship. Mr Mooner insists it was too large to be a drone and said it was metallic and reflecting from one side.

Mr Mooner said of his unusual find: “I had gone to Hopes Nose to photograph the four cruise ships that were anchored just offshore there. I had been photographing the ships from different locations around the coast all week and I had captured some great shots of them.

“I had also captured many anomalous objects near the ships. One of these Unidentified Objects had been flown directly over the top of the Queen Mary 2 cruise ship which I had managed to photograph. I had a great vantage point of the ships from where I was standing at Hope’s Nose and I had just started to take photographs of two of the ships with my Nikon P900 camera when I spotted an anomalous object near the Queen Mary 2 cruise ship just like before.

“Whatever the object was it seemed to be metallic in nature and the sun was reflecting the right side of it. The object flew down towards the ship and then stopped and hovered there for a couple of second before it just seemed to disappear into thin air.

“I was really stumped by this as it was far too large to be a drone and there was no sound at all.

“What the hell did I witness, and where did it go?”
