{"id":424,"date":"2021-02-25T20:56:14","date_gmt":"2021-02-25T20:56:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deluxecruises.com\/deals\/?p=424"},"modified":"2021-02-25T20:56:14","modified_gmt":"2021-02-25T20:56:14","slug":"crystal-cruises-announces-new-covid-19-vaccine-requirement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deluxecruises.com\/deals\/2021\/02\/25\/crystal-cruises-announces-new-covid-19-vaccine-requirement\/","title":{"rendered":"Crystal Cruises Announces New Covid-19 Vaccine Requirement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Crystal Cru<\/strong><strong>i<\/strong><strong>ses<\/strong>\u00a0has updated its health and safety protocols that require\u00a0<strong>all guests to be fully inoculated with a\u00a0Covid-19\u00a0vaccine<\/strong>\u00a0at least 14 days prior to their Crystal cruise.<\/p>\n<p>Guests will need to provide proof of vaccination before embarkation and must have received both doses of the vaccine if recommended by the manufacturer by that timeline.<\/p>\n<p>The vaccine requirement augments the company\u2019s comprehensive<strong>\u00a0Crystal Clean+ 4.0 measures<\/strong>, including negative Covid-19 tests for both guests and crew, temperature checks at the terminal prior to boarding, a nimble mask policy, social distancing guidelines, enhanced cleaning and disinfection measures, reduced capacity and more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe vaccine requirement is simply the best way to ensure the safest possible Crystal Experience for all on board,\u201d said Crystal Interim President and CEO\u00a0<strong>Jack Anderson,\u00a0<\/strong>adding that the company\u2019s guests and travel partners agree.<\/p>\n<p>According to a recent Cruise Critic survey of cruisers, more than 80 percent of respondents would cruise if a vaccine were required.<\/p>\n<p>Crystal has voluntarily\u00a0<strong>paused operations<\/strong>\u00a0through May 2021 for its River fleet; into June for its Ocean ships; through August 1 for Crystal Esprit and through August for Crystal Endeavor, allowing most travelers sufficient time to get fully vaccinated before Crystal\u2019s resumption of sailing.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to providing verified documentation of their COVID-19 vaccine at the time of boarding,\u00a0<strong>guests will complete an online form acknowledging the requirement<\/strong>\u00a0before their cruise tickets will be issued.<\/p>\n<p>Crystal\u2019s crew, who hail from dozens of countries around the world, will be expected to be vaccinated as well when the company resumes sailing, however, this may not be a viable option for all crew members given their age and\/or the availability of vaccines in their home countries.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the company\u2019s Crystal Clean+ 4.0 measures, crew members will be tested for Covid-19 prior to leaving their home location to join the ship and must receive a negative result.
