VALENCIA, Calif.<\/span>,\u00a0Nov. 11, 2021<\/span>\u00a0\/PRNewswire\/ —\u00a0In partnership with The Greatest GENERATIONS Foundation,\u00a0Cunard<\/a>\u00a0will again pay tribute to the heroes of World War II, featuring several esteemed veterans on the fourth such powerful enrichment program on board a\u00a0Queen Mary<\/span>\u00a02 Transatlantic Crossing. This special voyage will depart\u00a0New York<\/span>\u00a0and sail to\u00a0Southampton, England<\/span>,\u00a0June 5 to 12, 2022<\/span>.<\/p>\n

On this 7-night voyage, guests will have the opportunity to attend lectures and interact with several WWII veterans, hearing first-hand about their experiences during the war. From the “Battle of the Atlantic,” and the DDAY landings in Normandy, to the last living survivor of\u00a0Pearl Harbor<\/span>, these distinguished war heroes will engage in discussions and Q&A’s, giving guests a very personal glimpse into the human elements of wartime service.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A special new feature on this Crossing will be the inclusion of veterans from the Korean,\u00a0Vietnam<\/span>,\u00a0Iraq<\/span>, and\u00a0Afghanistan<\/span>\u00a0wars.<\/p>\n

  • STEVE MELNIKOFF<\/span><\/b>, 102, who experienced the full horrors of Omaha Beach, when he served in 1st<\/sup>\u00a0Battalion, 175th<\/sup>\u00a0Regiment of the 29th<\/sup>\u00a0Infantry Division and who earned three Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts for his service.<\/li>\n
  • MICKEY GANITCH<\/span><\/b>, 102, who served as a Senior Chief Quartermaster in\u00a0the United States<\/span>\u00a0Navy and witnessed\u00a0Pearl Harbor<\/span>.and went on the fight in 17 battles throughout the Pacific.<\/li>\n
  • HAROLD ANGLE<\/span><\/b>, 98, who served in the 112th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division, and who marched down the Champs-Elys\u00e9es on\u00a0August 29, 1944<\/span>, in the Liberation of\u00a0Paris<\/span>.<\/li>\n
  • JAMES BLANE<\/span><\/b>, 98, Corporal of the 4th<\/sup>\u00a0Marine Division of\u00a0the United States<\/span>\u00a0Marine Corps and served in the battles of Kwajalein (Roi-Namur), Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima.<\/li>\n
  • HAROLD RADISH<\/span>,<\/b>\u00a097, served with the U.S. Army and was assigned to the 90th Infantry Division, as a combat intelligence observer. During the battle of the BULGE, RADISH, a Jewish-American, was captured by the Germans and served the rest of the war as a prisoner of war in Nazi\u00a0Germany<\/span>.<\/li>\n
  • IRVING LOCKER<\/span><\/b>, 97, remembers in vivid detail the brutally cold winter of 1944-45 when he was a 19-year-old staff sergeant with the 116th AAA Gun Battalion of the 1st Army’s 7th Corps. They fired 90mm anti-aircraft, anti-tank guns at the Germans in Hitler’s last desperate effort to avert inevitable defeat in the European Theater of WWII.<\/li>\n
  • ROBERT FISHER<\/span><\/b>, 88, is a 1955\u00a0Naval Academy<\/span>\u00a0graduate and career Marine Corps officer who retired in 1982. At that time, he also studied four guerrilla wars in\u00a0Southeast Asia<\/span>\u00a0and obtained the Malaya Jungle School Syllabus at Johore Bahru and went on to train 20,000 Marines, Navy Seals, Sea-Bees, and Army Special Forces Teams for\u00a0Vietnam<\/span>.<\/li>\n
  • RICHARD PRINCE<\/span><\/b>, 76, was assigned to Delta Company, 1st Battalion 5th Marines and assaulted the Dong Ba Tower in\u00a0Hue<\/span>. Pictures of his bravery were featured in Time Magazine and on the cover of Stars & Stripes Magazine during the war. He was severely wounded in the neck and medevac’d out of\u00a0Vietnam<\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0the United States<\/span>\u00a0during this action.<\/li>\n
  • JESSE “BUD” ALLEY<\/b>, 80, served two years active duty; a complete twelve-month tour in\u00a0Vietnam<\/span>\u00a0with the First Cavalry Division (Airmobile)-August 1965-August 1966<\/span>. His award-winning book The Ghosts of the Green Grass documents his experience in the Vietnam War.<\/li>\n
  • KEVIN BREWINGTON<\/span><\/b>, 38, served with the U.S. Army and was two months into his\u00a0Afghanistan<\/span>\u00a0deployment as an infantryman with the 125th Special Brigade Combat Team when he stepped on a landmine. He woke up four days later in a hospital in\u00a0Germany<\/span>. BREWINGTON lost both his legs and part of his right arm in the blast and has spent seven years recovering and rebuilding his life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
