Seabourn\u00a0this week announced the name of its second ultra-luxury, purpose-built expedition ship:\u00a0Seabourn Pursuit<\/em>. Construction for\u00a0Seabourn Pursuit<\/em>\u00a0began in fall 2020 during a ceremony in San Giorgo di Nogare, Italy, and the build process is well underway. The ship is scheduled for delivery in February 2023, with its sister ship,\u00a0Seabourn Venture<\/em>, slated for delivery in March 2022.<\/p>\n

After delivery,\u00a0Seabourn Pursuit\u00a0<\/em>will head north for its first season of exploration, with an inaugural \u201cFire and Ice\u201d voyage scheduled for April 4, 2023, departing roundtrip from Reykjavik, Iceland. The itinerary, which sails along the coast of Greenland and Iceland, will be filled with \u201csnow-swept\u201d landscapes\u2014the \u201cIce\u201d\u2014and a late night in Akureyri, providing access to waterfalls (Go\u00f0afoss), hot springs and the lava fields of Dimmuborgir and Leirhnjukur\u2014the \u201cFire.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ship then spends the remainder of spring and summer exploring the waters and landscapes of Greenland, Iceland and Norway, in some instances retracing the path of the Vikings to the frontier town of Troms\u00f8 while carving its way through the inside passage of the Norwegian fjords. A sure highlight for August 2023 is the ship\u2019s Northwest Passage journey through some of the most remote areas in the Northern Hemisphere from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland to Nome, Alaska.<\/p>\n

Good to know: Itineraries for the\u00a0Seabourn Pursuit<\/em>\u00a0inaugural season are set to open for sale in mid-December 2021.<\/p>\n

Both\u00a0Seabourn Pursuit<\/em>\u00a0and sister ship\u00a0Seabourn Venture\u00a0<\/em>are designed and built for diverse environments to PC6 Polar Class standards and include modern hardware and technology that will extend the ships\u2019 global deployment and capabilities.
