superb location on a narrow peninsula of dazzling white limestone at

island. Bonifacio was established in the 12th century, but an earlier
settlement existed in Roman times. The name originated with Count Bonifacio

Guests will be taken ashore via the ship's tenders. The
landing pier is close to the marina, with its shops and restaurants and
the famous blue lobsters at the Aquariam. The upper town can be reached
via a long flight of stairs by the Church St. Erasme at the marina,

The wood FROM chestnut and juniper trees is used by local
artisans to craft nice souvenirs. Several shops in the upper town offer

Numerous restaurants along Quay Comparetti in the marina

specialties. The bars and cafes here are the social focus for much of
the day and the evening. Eateries in the upper town are less pretentious
and less expensive.
