bay. Less expensive eateries can be found in the upper town,

specializing in Corsican cuisine.

Exploring the maze of narrow streets in the upper town is a must.

Columbus' Birthplace. In Rue de Fil a marble plaque marks

the site where, according to local tradition, Christopher Columbus was

along the ramparts; it is here where Napoleon reputedly spent a night in
