Get in the mood for some serious relaxation as we set sail from lively Fort Lauderdale to the islands of the Caribbean. St Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands welcomes us to its shores first at the bustling port of Charlotte Amalie. Take the cable car into the hills for a grand overview. We cross now to the British Virgin Islands, for more small-island fun in Tortola, to lounge on the white sands and snorkel with the sea turtles. St John's in Antigua offers a window on the past, with the chance to visit the well-preserved Georgian dockyard that Admiral Nelson used as a shelter and repair shop for the Royal Navy. After pretty San Juan, with its pastel-colored colonial architecture and buzzy bars and restaurants, comes Nassau in the Bahamas, with great beaches, and a trio of historic forts to explore. Finally, we reach Fort Lauderdale and our journey's end.
