Then it's on to even glitzier shores, with a stop in Monte Carlo - admire the superyachts in the marina and don't forget to have a flutter in the legendary casino. The birthplace of Napoleon, Ajaccio in Corsica, is next, with history galore and beautiful beaches. Then we travel to Italy, and the storied town of Portofino, whose colorful houses seem to cling to the cliffside above an impossibly blue sea. Livorno, the gateway to Tuscany, offers more of la dolce vita before we arrive in Civitavecchia, with all the splendors of Rome right on its doorstep.
