This roundtrip cruise from Vancouver loops around the scenic islands that lie off the west coast of Canada and Alaska, returning via the buzzy, creative city of Victoria. We travel through the breathtaking Seymour Narrows, getting our first taste of the epic wilderness that awaits. In the fishing harbor of Ketchikan, admire the houses built on stilts over the water and the 19th-century totem poles, and in Wrangell, home to the Tlingit people, see 8,000-year-old rock paintings. From here, we head north to the impressive Tracy Arm fjord and the Sawyer Glacier, looking out for whales. There's more wildlife watching in Juneau and a chance to learn about Gold Rush history in Skagway. Then comes a real highlight: sailing past the Hubbard Glacier, the largest of its kind in North America, which calves huge chunks of ice into the sea. In Sitka, the onion-shaped dome on St. Michael's hints at the town's Russian heritage, and then a sea day brings some welcome time to relax. Klawock is the gateway to the aptly named Misty Fjords National Park, before another sea day to enjoy all that the ship has to offer. Finally, we call at Victoria and then return to Vancouver.
